AutoPlay:

  • Added the HideRegistration= option (registered versions only) to hide the AutoPlay copyright at the bottom of the splash screen.

AutoPlay Menu Utility:

  • Added support for the HideRegistration=, ImageHeight= and ImageWidth= options.

  • The CDTitle setting is now also written to the AUTORUN.INF file. It seemed to be missing from previous releases. This is set to the same value as the Label value.

  • All text values in the [AutoPlay Data] section can now be encrypted with the AutoPlay Configuration Utility

v1.4.060

Sunday, 5 August 2001

  • Added the PauseLen= setting, so that AutoPlay can pause before attempting to launch the document. This is valuable if the viewer also has a splash screen that may obsure the AutoPlay splash.

v1.4.060

Wednesday, 1 August 2001

  • Added the TopMost= setting, so that you can control if AutoPlay is the top-most window or not.

  • When the OEMName=XY Industries setting is used, the text "Registerd by XY Industries" now appears instead of the standard "AutoPlay version - (c) James Greene"

v1.4.058

Wednesday, 18 July 2001

  • Added the new OEMName= setting for commercial registrations, so that commercial users can now use any Copyright= text without having to order an OEM custom-build.

v1.4.056

Monday, 2 April 2001

  • Added the TimeOption= option and support.

v1.4.052

Saturday, 10 February 2001

  • Added support for the DefaultAction= item in AUTORUN.INF.

v1.4.046

Friday, 16 November 2000

  • Fixed a problem when using a Viewer= setting with parameters, e.g. Viewer=mplayer.exe /play

v1.4.045

Sunday, 1 October 2000

  • AutoPlay now supports .BMP and .DIB bitmap files (in addition to the various MetaFile formats) for the Splash graphic.

  • Added a new Debug= option to display error messages when AutoPlay can't find the specified Splash graphic.

v1.3.040

Tuesday, 23 November 1999

  • Corrected timeout when music is used, but the splash screen is hidden.

  • Splash=(none) is now supported when no splash screen should be displayed.

v1.3.042

Monday, 13 March 2000

  • AutoPlay wasn't working properly on Windows 98SE. Apparently, Microsoft changed the behaviour of the CreateEnhMetaFile() function, so AutoPlay failed to display the Splash window. This has been fixed.

  • First release compiled with Microsoft Visual C++. Former released all created with Watcom C++.

v1.3.032

Thursday, 18 November 1999

  • Added the SplashLen= setting for registered users.

v1.3.028

Friday, 12 November 1999

  • Functionally identical to release 1.3.020.

  • Updated the default "splash" logo with my new domain name (www.informatics-consulting.com).

v1.3.020

Tuesday, 12 October 1999

  • Corrected the error message display when the selected document can't be opened.

  • The VIEWER= value is now post-processed to correctly handle names containing spaces (but be sure to enclose the value in TWO sets of double-quotes!), and to allow applications with 'fixed' parameters to be called, e.g. "rundll32.exe amovie.ocx,RunDll /play /close"

v1.3.007

Monday, 23 August 1999

  • Changed the default Document= and Viewer= to null. If both values are empty, AutoPlay just shows the 'splash' screen, plays the music (if defined), and exits after 5 (or MusicLen) seconds.

v1.22

Monday, 8 March 1999

  • If the document couldn't be launched, only the windows error text was displayed. Now, there is a friendlier message "Cannot AutoPlay the document xxx.yyy", followed by the Windows error message.

  • The Windows error messages have been moved out of the source code and put into the resource file.

  • There is now an OEM option available – if you register a commercial license, we will provide you with an OEM version, with your Copyright message hard-coded into the program. In addition, the default splash picture will be removed (resulting in a 34Kb executable file size), or can be replaced with a customer-provided WMF, EMF or BMP file.

v1.21

Friday, 5 March 1999

  • Initial release.
