An easy-to-use AutoPlay function from James Greene for
your CDs and DVDs
Use the AutoPlay Configuration Utility to create and/or
maintain the AUTORUN.INF file!
To use the all new AutoPlay Menu Utility application, use
the following settings in AUTORUN.INF: Document=
Viewer=APMENU.EXE
ForceViewer=1
Use a virtual CD application to test AutoPlay. You can also test
the AUTOPLAY function on a floppy diskette by following these
steps:
Import the file AUTOFLOP.REG (located in the AutoPlay
installation folder) into your system registry by double-clicking
on the AUTOFLOP.REG file.
Windows 9x: Restart Windows
Windows NT/2000: Log off and logon again
Copy the AUTORUN.INF, AUTOPLAY.EXE and your Document and
Viewer applications to a blank floppy diskette (using the same
folder structure as the CD-R).
Open 'My Computer' and right-click on 3.5" Floppy (A:)
Select AutoPlay from the pop-up menu
To disable the floppy diskette AutoPlay functionality, import the
file NOTOFLOP.REG into your system registry, and re-start your
Windows session.
If you want to put AUTOPLAY into a subfolder on the CD, e.g. ,
then you should have two copies of the Autorun.inf file: 1 must be in
the root directory of the disc, and the second in the same folder
where AUTOPLAY is stored. The AUTORUN.INF in the root directory
should contain the [AUTORUN] section. The AUTORUN.INF in the AutoPlay
folder must contain the [AutoPlay Data] section. Also be sure to set
the DirFix= value to 1 to ensure that folder names are interpreted
correctly.
Be sure to use only path names (no drive letters!) when referring
to other folders on the CD. For example, if AUTOPLAY.EXE is in the
folder, and the file to be opened is in the folder, then the
Document= setting should be set as follows:
Document=\DATA\README.TXT
If the Viewer= name contains spaces, enclose the entire name in
TWO sets of double-quotes, e.g. Viewer=""C:\Program
Files\Plus!\Microsoft Internet\Iexplore.exe""
